Clay Blackwood / Professor at Olympic College

What happens when you find that you want to help people in a very practical way? You teach usable skills in CPR, First Aid and Mental Health First Aid of course!

Clay has been a professor at Olympic College for over 20 years, teaching a wide variety of courses. He is also a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid, CPR/First Aid, and a number of other classes. Clay blends his technical knowledge along with real life scenarios that provide students with applicable skills to assist whenever the need arises. He has taught certification classes for a number of businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the area.

When not in the classroom, Clay is often found on a softball field or volleyball court, coaching, as he has been doing for 30 years. This past spring, he led the NKHS Vikings softball team to a 2A state championship, going 25-0 throughout the season. He has coached at all levels, including Little Leage and recreation ball, high school and at the collegiate level for both sports, as well as served as an athletic director within the NWAC. Clay proudly earned his Associate's degree from Olympic College, holds a Bachelor's degree in Workforce Education and Training from Southern Illinois University and a Master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine.
