Dr. Aaron Leavell / Superintendent of Olympic Educational Service District 114

Dr. Aaron Leavell is currently the new Superintendent of Olympic Educational Service District 114, located in Bremerton, WA. Olympic Educational Service District (OESD) is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts, tribal compact schools, public charter schools and state-approved private schools in Washington State. ESDs function primarily as regional support agencies and deliver educational services that can be more efficiently or economically performed. Prior to Dr. Leavell's arrival at OESD 114, he served as the Superintendent of the Bremerton School District for 9 years between 2013-2022. Bremerton School District is home to about 4,500 students. In Bremerton, Aaron worked as a secondary teacher and athletic coach, Assistant Principal for Bremerton Junior High and Bremerton HS Freshman Academy, Principal of Bremerton High School, and as the Assistant Superintendent. He worked for three years as the Secondary Education Director in the North Kitsap School District before returning to Bremerton. In 2009, Aaron was the Washington State High School Principal of the Year.

Dr. Leavell has served as an AWSP (Association of Washington School Principals) Board member, a member of WASA (Washington Association of School Administrators), AASA (American Association of School Administrators) and is currently the Foundation President for the Bremerton Rotary Club. Aaron has been an active WASA member serving as Region 114 President in 2018-19 and on the WASA Board as a Representative for Region 114 in 2019-20. In 2020, Aaron was elected Superintendent Component Chair for WASA and later President-elect of the WASA organization. He served as WASA President in 2021-2022, and remains on the WASA Board as Immediate Past-President. Aaron and his family reside in Bremerton, Wa, and are lifelong residents of Kitsap County. He is married to his wife Kelli of 25 years and they have three sons.
