Nate DeMars / Owner of Pursuit
Nate DeMars grew up in northern Wisconsin, received a marketing degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and landed in Columbus in 2005, straight out of college, on assignment with Whirlpool Corporation. After four years in the corporate world he enrolled in the MBA program at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business where he launched his business, Pursuit, out of an entrepreneurship class project.
Pursuit is a modern suit store with old-fashioned customer service that launched in 2011 at the South Campus Gateway and re-located to The Short North Arts District in the fall of 2015. The company opened its second storefront in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati late in 2018. Pursuit also operates a unique suit store on wheels, The Suitmobile, along with an online store.
Since launching his business Nate has spent time mentoring students and is currently a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the non-profit Short North Alliance.
Nate was named Columbus' Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018 by Columbus Metropreneur and received the Alumni Entrepreneur Award from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business in 2018. Pursuit has received the Diversity in Business Award from Columbus Business First, has been named Columbus' Top Fashion and Apparel Store by ColumbusUnderground on multiple occasions, and has been named 'Best Menswear' by Columbus Wedding magazine in 2020 and 2021.
